Work Place Assessment
We all know that prevention is better than cure! A work place assessment may be utilised to identify potential risk factors for the development of musculoskeletal disorders.
Some clients require their environment to be adapted to facilitate full recovery, or the development of compensatory strategies to enhance performance. Depending on diagnosis, these may be permanent or just a stepping stone to independence. The occupational therapist may recommend assistive equipment, cognitive strategies, skill building and education or linking the individual to appropriate community services.
The aim of the assessment is to work hand in hand with a client and employer to facilitate independence.
